This year we were five climbers travelling to Chamonix to climb Mont Blanc. Me, Per Jerberyd, my wife Jonna, my old climbing partner Kenth Rehn, my former classmate and climbing partner Tomas Ericsson and his friend Patrik Nygård. The schedule for Tomas and Patrik was tight since they only had a few days off. After two acclimatization trips to Aiguille du Midi we wall headed for Mont Blanc.
As it turned out, Kenth, Tomas & Patrik formed one summit team climbing during daytime meanwhile Jonna and I prefered the night with less effort on firm snow. We all made it to the summit of Mont Blanc, 4,810 m.
- First day in Chamonix and we’re waiting for the Téléphérique de l’Aiguille du Midi to open. Windy and much snow…
- Halfway up and time to change to the next cable car

- I’m pointing out Grandes Jorasses
- First attempt to take a group photo – not ready at all 😉
- Second attempt for a group photo, Kenth tangles his foot in the rope and falls 😉
- Kenth finally did it 🙂 From left in the top row: Per Jerberyd, Jonna Jerberyd, Patrik Nygård, Tomas Ericsson and Kenth Rehn
- The Plan Midi was NOT in condition, to much snow and probably avalanche prone! This is where Jonna and I turned around.
- …But Tomas kept on digging/crawling his and Patriks way a bit further 😉
- Don’t know what Patrik’s doing. Perhaps taking a Yeti step 🙂
