I’ve always had a dream to climb the legendary mountain Eiger in Switzerland. In september 2013 it I took a shortcut and hired a mountain guide for the first time in my life. I contacted the swedish mounatin guide Krister Jonsson and after a few e-mails forward and back we agreed to have a go 🙂 I can really recommend Krister to anyone! We had a lot of fun!
- The world famous panorama from Kleine Scheidegg with Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau
- Krister found the exit door at the Eismeer station
- From the Eismeer station at 3160m inside the Eiger an icy tunnel leads out to the glacier
- Climbing starts. Delicate and no good protection
- On the traverse to the Mittellegihütte 3355m. Note the climbers.
- View from Mittellegihütte 3355m

- Climbing starts…
- The Mittellegi route follow the knife sharp ridge
- On the way with the hut below on the ridge
- It’s quite a long route
- The snow ridges start
- Soon there! The summit in the background
- Made it in 3 hours 🙂
- Panorama from the summit of Eiger 3970 meters
- Done! Time to get down safely!
- It’s quite a few rappels down the south ridge
- A known crux mentioned in the guidebooks
- It’s a long way down. Here’s the view over the South Face of Eiger
- Almost down…
- Back at the galcier. Now it’s just a short hike to the Mönchsjoch Hut
